PACSIW: Image Orientation
|
… Centricity PACS-IW viewer applies the “simple orientation rule” when displaying axial images of cross-sectional modalities, where it attempts to always display the right side of the patient toward the left rim of an image. This is dependant on the orientation of a patient during the scanning process, images acquired prone or supine may be mirrored horizontally with respect to the orientation in which they were acquired.
To indicate the fact that the images were automatically mirrored, the viewer will display a special icon in the image annotation overlay whenever image orientation is different from the one in which it was acquired.
(PACS-IW Viewer)
This indicator will display when an image is spatially transformed (flipped, mirrored, rotated) either as result of the “simple orientation rule” or as a manual operation. |
